In partnership with the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges, the Guided Pathways Initiative for Diversity, Equity, Antiracism and Leadership (IDEAL) Fellowship is for community college student leaders to further advocate for justice in the classroom and at the college policy level. IDEAL Fellows are carefully selected from hundreds of applicants each round to participate in a cohort-model program that runs either 6 weeks or one semester. The fellows work in teams through our signature IMPACT process to identify and research campus policies that are disproportionately negatively impacting marginalized student groups. Through graduate-level lecture, lively discussion, notable guest speakers, and strong community. IDEAL Fellows are equipped and empowered to present their research-based findings and recommendations to college leadership and boards. Impressive outcomes are attributed to love as praxis.
IDEAL is also the focus of a three-year research project of the University of Washington. Read the April 2022 report here. The fellowship continues to evolve with each cohort with increased focus on institutional change through actual student voice. We are convinced that your campus would benefit from an IDEAL program-- if you're interested, please reach out to discuss. |
